fundraising efforts with a Second A nnual Summer Fun Run, according to =

will be July 11, at the Epicenter Family Entertainment Complex.=20
Junior Achievement is an established bridge between education and business. =
Volunteers from the business community teach students in grades =
kindergarten=20
through 12 the keys to business success, including economics, =
entrepreneurship,=20
ethics, leadership, character, =
work-related=20
life skills, citizenship and financial literacy.=20
Hutchison, who is the executive =

she is receiving more requests than usual this year and, =93in light of =

Junior Achievement offers is more critical now than ever.=94=20
The Rip City Riders hosted its first =
Summer Fun=20
Run in July of 2008 and it was considered a major success. They donated =
$7,000=20
to the Start Making a Reader Today =
program, for=20
which the Rip City Riders president is a volunteer. The group, however, =
wants to=20
give more and is working to make this year=92s event bigger.=20
An application process was used by the =
Rip City=20
Riders board of directors to determine this year=92s beneficiary. =
Criteria=20
included: how much of the funds donated would go directly to the =
community; how=20
many resources and volunteers the organization could provide to promote =
and=20
assist at the event; and what the mission of the organization is and whether it focuses its =
efforts in=20
the local community.
In choosing Junior=20
Achievement, the board announced it is not only worthy of additional =
funds, but=20
is the type of organization the board can be proud to represent to its =
sponsors.=20
